BEST Revamps Mumbai Bus Network From November 2025

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking will implement a major overhaul of its city bus network from 1 November 2025, introducing a new route and revising nearly two dozen key services across Mumbai. The revamp is aimed at enhancing connectivity, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency across the metropolis.

As part of the initiative, Route A-101 will be launched between the World Trade Centre (Cuffe Parade) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT – Bhatiya Baug). The new route will cover important landmarks including G.D. Somani Marg, Colaba, Y.B. Chavan Pratishthan, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, Madame Cama Road, and Walchand Hirachand Marg, operating from Monday to Saturday.

In addition, 23 existing routes have been rationalised, with eight converted into fully air-conditioned services. Key changes include:

Route A-1 will now run between CSMT and Santacruz Depot, instead of Electric House (Colaba).

Route A-6 will connect Backbay Depot to Tata Power Centre.

Route A-30 has been extended from Mumbai Central to Vikhroli Depot via Opera House.

Routes A-45 and A-49 will now extend from MMRDA Colony to Mahul Village.

Route A-60 has been renumbered as A-458, stretching between Deonar Depot and Borivali Station (East).

Route S-40 will travel via the Goregaon Check Naka Flyover to Dindoshi Bus Station.

In central and southern Mumbai, several routes have been adjusted:

Route A-69 will extend from Prabodhankar Thackeray Udyan (Sewri) to Wadala Depot.

Route A-77 will loop via Jaslok Hospital and Haji Ali, anticlockwise in the morning and clockwise in the evening.

Route A-78 will now terminate at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum) instead of Colaba.

Route A-171 will link Worli Depot with Antop Hill Bus Station instead of Chunabhatti.

In the Andheri region, Route 235 will now pass through Ziauddin Bukhari Road (Millat Nagar), and Route 307 has been extended to Majas Depot via Holy Spirit Hospital. Route A-341 has been renumbered as A-336, running between Antop Hill and Rani Laxmibai Chowk (Sion), while Route A-362 extends from Chembur (Dr Ambedkar Udyan) to Deonar Depot.

Other adjustments include:

Route A-370 shortened to terminate at Kelkar College.

Route A-372 rerouted via Gautam Nagar and Lokhande Marg.

Route A-433 now ends at Andheri Station (West) instead of Agarakar Chowk (East).

Route A-461 renumbered as A-465, connecting Marol Depot to Prabodhankar Thackeray Nagar (Charkop).

Additionally, Route A-604 between Kanjurmarg (West) and Bhandup (West) has been reinstated, while Route A-605 now terminates at Tembhi Pada Naka.

Eight routes have been upgraded to air-conditioned services for enhanced passenger comfort:

A-207: Malvani Depot – Dahisar Station

A-211: Bandra Bus Station (West) – Father Agnel

A-215: Bandra Reclamation – Tata Colony

A-399: Trombay – Maharana Pratap Chowk (Mulund)

A-410: Vikhroli Depot – Mahakali Caves

A-604: Kanjurmarg (West) – Bhandup (West)

A-605: Bhandup (West) – Tembhi Pada Naka

A-606: Bhandup (West) – Ashok Kedare Chowk

According to BEST officials, the restructuring forms part of a broader strategy to modernise Mumbai’s bus transport network, strengthen suburban and commercial linkages, and ensure smoother, more comfortable commutes for passengers across the city.
