Bioyug on Wheels Sparks Interest in Ahmedabad

Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd successfully hosted the Ahmedabad leg of its nationwide outreach programme, Bioyug on Wheels, on 30 August 2025 at CIPET Ahmedabad. This immersive initiative aimed to advance the discourse on a circular economy by spotlighting cutting-edge innovations in the bioeconomy, with a focus on PLA-based compostable bioplastics.
The event, held in collaboration with CIPET Ahmedabad, attracted students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and sustainability advocates from across the region. It featured:

  • Live demonstrations, expert Q&A sessions, and interactive exhibits
  • Hands-on learning modules and networking between academia and industry
  • A seminar and panel discussion centred on India’s bioeconomy and future sustainable development
The day-long programme created a confluence of ideas, driving dialogue and collaboration in support of a greener, innovation-led future. Senior leaders including Dr S. K. Nayak, former Director General of CIPET, and Shri Paritosh Diwasali, Director of CIPET Ahmedabad, shared insights into the evolving landscape of bio-based technologies in India. They stressed the importance of policy support, research, and skills development in scaling sustainable alternatives.
