C-DOT, IIT Roorkee Partner to Set Up Telecom Innovation CoE

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has recently signed an MoU with IIT Roorkee to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) focused on advancing indigenous telecom innovation. The new facility aims to boost research, prototype development and capacity building in emerging domains such as 5G, 6G, quantum technologies, wireless communication, cybersecurity and AI-led applications.

The initiative is designed to strengthen academia–industry collaboration by combining IIT Roorkee’s academic strengths with C-DOT’s R&D expertise. The partnership was formalised in the presence of Prof K K Pant and Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, followed by the inauguration of the CoE. The centre will support start-ups, develop intellectual property and promote continuous knowledge exchange to reinforce India’s position in global telecom innovation.
