Chhattisgarh Proposes 406.72-Acre Industrial Park Under BHAVYA

The Chhattisgarh government plans to submit a proposal to the Union government for an integrated multi-sector industrial park in Raipur district under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA). The proposed facility is intended to support a range of industrial activities by providing common infrastructure and related facilities.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Level Committee constituted under BHAVYA and chaired by Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan in Raipur on 30 September. Officials said the committee considered a proposal submitted by the Chhattisgarh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), which is responsible for advancing the project.

The committee reviewed details from the project's Detailed Project Report, master plan and land availability assessment. The presentation also covered the infrastructure required for the park, its estimated project cost, proposed financial arrangements and the operational guidelines governing BHAVYA. These details formed the basis for the committee's consideration of the submission.

The park is planned for Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in Raipur district and will cover approximately 406.72 acres. According to the proposal, the site will include infrastructure and facilities needed for different industrial activities, allowing multiple sectors to operate within an integrated industrial development area. The location is part of the planned capital region.

Following its review, the State Level Committee approved the proposal for submission to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. CRDA will forward the documents to DPIIT through the prescribed procedure, after which the project will require approval before further action can be taken.

Senior officials attended the meeting. The proposal remains subject to consideration and approval by the Centre, and the next stage will depend on the outcome of the submission to DPIIT. Further decisions on implementation, financing and construction will follow the approval process.
