DBT Reviews Progress Of Special Campaign 5.0 Implementation

The inspection, attended by senior officers, was followed by a review meeting with nodal officers of Autonomous Institutions (AIs) and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the DBT. The meeting aimed to formulate a comprehensive plan to achieve the targets set during the preparatory phase of the campaign.

During the implementation phase (2 October–31 October), the department has undertaken extensive efforts to meet the specified goals. Progress is being monitored regularly by the nodal officer.

Under record management, a total of 22,176 physical files were due for review, of which 13,000 have been reviewed. Around 9,111 files have been identified for weeding out, and 447 files have already been removed. Additionally, 16,892 e-files have been reviewed, and 5,737 have been closed.

Through the disposal of e-waste and scrap materials, the DBT and its associated bodies have generated Rs 417,250 in revenue, while 46,390 sq. ft. of space has been freed.

A total of 83 cleanliness sites have been identified under the campaign. Out of 222 grievances received or forwarded since January 2025, 201 have been resolved. Monthly review meetings chaired by the Joint Secretary (Administration) are being held to ensure timely grievance redressal.

A scoring mechanism has been introduced to objectively evaluate the performance of AIs and PSUs, assigning points for adherence to cleanliness standards and the implementation of innovative cleanliness initiatives.

The DBT’s active participation in Special Campaign 5.0 underscores its commitment to promoting Swachhata (cleanliness) and fostering a sustainable behavioural shift towards building a cleaner, healthier nation.

Jyoti Structures FY26 profit rises 56.5%

VECV sales rise 6.9% in April 2026

VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, recorded sales of 7,318 units in April 2026, compared to 6,846 units in April 2025, registering 6.9 per cent growth.
