Edera Raises $15M to Boost Cloud & AI Security

Cloud security startup Edera has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by M12, Microsoft's Venture Fund, with participation from Mantis VC and In-Q-Tel (IQT). Existing investors, including Eniac Ventures, 645 Ventures, FPV Ventures, Precursor Ventures, and Rosecliff Ventures, also joined the round. This brings Edera’s total funding to $20 million, just three months after securing a $5 million seed round.

Edera’s workload isolation technology addresses a growing problem in cloud security: shared containerized workloads that expose organizations to privilege escalation attacks. The company’s flagship solution, Edera Protect, ensures cloud-native isolation, securing workloads without requiring workflow changes or post-deployment security burdens.

"This funding accelerates our mission to empower engineers to develop with speed and confidence," said Emily Long, CEO and Co-Founder of Edera. "We're eliminating the traditional tension between development velocity and security by making isolation intrinsic to the infrastructure."

Introducing Edera Protect AI: Securing GPU Workloads With its latest funding, Edera is expanding its product line to support AI infrastructure, a sector where shared GPU resources pose significant security risks. The company has launched Edera Protect AI, the first secure-by-design solution that automates GPU isolation to prevent AI model compromises and reduce manual configuration efforts.

Recent vulnerabilities in NVIDIA’s container toolkit have highlighted the need for better GPU security, reinforcing Edera’s vision for a resilient AI ecosystem.

"AI is transforming industries at an unprecedented pace, but without secure, sovereign, and sustainable infrastructure, its full potential can't be realized," said Nick Jones, Head of Engineering at Nscale. "Edera's advanced isolation technology prevents lateral movement and ensures data integrity."

Reducing Cloud Costs and Enhancing Security Beyond security, Edera’s workload isolation technology significantly reduces cloud computing costs. Enterprises can now consolidate workloads that typically require separate clusters or specialized hardware—including GPU workloads—onto standard cloud instances while maintaining strict security boundaries.

The company’s multi-cloud compatibility eliminates vendor lock-in, and its proven performance benchmarks suggest higher efficiency compared to standard Docker deployments.

"Edera's technology delivers true workload isolation while maintaining native container-like performance," said Alex Zenla, CTO and Co-Founder of Edera. "We provide platform teams with robust isolation boundaries that enhance security without requiring infrastructure changes."

Strengthening Leadership and Industry Support Edera has expanded its leadership team, bringing on Kaylin Trychon as Chief Marketing Officer. Trychon previously played a key role at Google and Chainguard, helping the latter reach a $1.1 billion valuation in just three years.

Industry experts are also backing Edera’s approach.

"Secure, isolated workloads are a bigger priority than ever for the industry," said Mandy Andress, CISO at Elastic. "We are encouraged to see innovative approaches like Edera and look forward to collaborating on this critical technology."

About Edera Founded in Seattle, Edera is revolutionizing cloud security by embedding workload isolation into the infrastructure itself. Its solutions enable secure multi-tenancy for Kubernetes and AI workloads, without slowing down development or increasing costs. As a female-founded company, Edera is built on the principle that diverse perspectives lead to better technology.

The company is actively hiring as it continues to scale. For job openings and upcoming events, visit Edera’s website.
