Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) and Airbus inks a pact

According to reports, Indian Railways? Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Vadodara and Airbus entered into collaboration today to significantly strengthen the Indian aviation sector. A definitive agreement, following up on the MOU signed in September 2023, was reportedly signed at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi between Mr. R?mi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, and Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. The agreement was reportedly signed in the presence of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and IT, who is also the First Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, along with other dignitaries including Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, and Shri Ravneet Singh, Minister of State for Railways, among others. The agreement includes provisions for a full scholarship program for 40 GSV students throughout the program duration, establishment of a Centre of Excellence at GSV, and the creation of the Airbus Aviation Chair Professor position at GSV. Additionally, GSV and Airbus will collaborate on executive training programs for working professionals in the aviation sector. R?mi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, remarked that the initiative aims to increase job creation and prevent brain drain from India. He highlighted Airbus?s current presence in India, employing about 3,500 full-time employees, and supporting an additional 15,000 jobs in its supply chain. He also mentioned Airbus's plans to establish Final Assembly Lines in Vadodara for the C295 military aircraft and another for the H125 helicopter, which is under site consideration. The C295 program alone is expected to support 25,000 direct and indirect jobs in India. Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor of GSV, emphasized that the partnership with Airbus will significantly advance GSV?s vision to be an industry-driven and innovation-led university. He expressed gratitude to Airbus for their substantial contributions to regular education and executive education programs at GSV, aimed at enhancing human resources, skills, and research capabilities in the aviation sector in India. Established through an Act of Parliament in 2022, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Vadodara is a Central University sponsored by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, with Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw as its First Chancellor.
