Government of India Undertakes Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle

In a significant development within the New Delhi establishment, a major bureaucratic reshuffle took place late Monday evening. The Government of India appointed seven officers to the rank of Additional Secretary while simultaneously elevating eleven officers from the position of Joint Secretary across various ministries and departments.

The newly appointed Additional Secretaries include Chandra Bhushan Kumar, who takes charge as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation. Samir Kumar Sinha assumes the role of Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition) in the Department of Defence. Sanjeev Kumar Jindal now serves as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, having previously held the position of Joint Secretary.

Additionally, Asit Gopal has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Textiles, replacing Shakeel P Ahammed. Tripti Gurha now holds the position of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development, having previously served as Joint Secretary. Bharat Harbanslal Khera has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Furthermore, Puja Singh Mandol has taken charge as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, replacing Alok Shekhar.

In a move tailored to individual officers, eleven Joint Secretary rank officers across ministries were temporarily upgraded to the level of Additional Secretary. This elevation includes Shubha Thakur in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Sanjukta Mudgal in the Ministry of Culture, Anant Swarup in the Department of Commerce, Navaljit Kapoor in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Manoj Pandey in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Rahul Navin in the Directorate of Enforcement, Anurag Bajpai in the Department of Defence Production, Alok Pande in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Sunil Kumar in the Department of Science & Technology, Hanif Qureshi in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, and Anandrao Vishnu Patil in the Department of School Education & Literacy.
