Haryana CM unveils Faridabad development plan, initiates projects

Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar unveiled an extensive master plan aimed at the holistic development of the urban area of Faridabad. This comprehensive plan, developed in collaboration with both IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee, seeks to systematically enhance the infrastructure and public services within the jurisdiction of the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority.

During a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Faridabad, the Chief Minister promptly addressed 12 out of the 14 complaints. He instructed the relevant officials to conduct a survey in partnership with IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee to thoroughly evaluate the current urban landscape and pinpoint areas in need of improvement and redesign to align with the development schemes.

Khattar expressed, "With the assistance of the IIT teams, we will scrutinise the structure and layout within the Municipal Corporation area." He highlighted that the master plan will comprehensively tackle aspects such as road construction, drainage systems, and other vital infrastructure elements, with the goal of ensuring a systematic approach to development and the efficient delivery of public services to the community.

Furthermore, at the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of water conservation and encouraged active public involvement in this critical endeavour. He took serious note of various complaints related to the Municipal Corporation and issued a stern warning against any misconduct by corporation employees. Khattar reaffirmed his commitment to a government free of corruption and instructed officers to take swift action against illegal construction and encroachments.

In an effort to boost infrastructure, educational opportunities, and community services, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for 11 development projects in Faridabad, with a combined budget exceeding Rs 930 million. Among these projects, six road initiatives, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 665 million, were inaugurated by the Chief Minister. These projects are expected to significantly enhance the local road infrastructure, providing improved connectivity and accessibility for residents.

Education also received a substantial boost, as the Chief Minister initiated the construction of four school buildings with a total budget of about Rs 196.2 million, according to an official statement. Additionally, he laid the foundation for the construction of a community hall in Sector 48, with an estimated cost of Rs 69.9 million. This community hall project will include facilities such as a table tennis hall, a gym, and a badminton hall for the local community, with completion expected within 18 months.
