Knauf India to Upskill 25,000 + Construction Workers

Knauf India, world’s No. 1 company in drywall and ceiling Solutions, has announced the launch of its latest initiative, ‘Knauf Mobile Training Academy’, to contribute to skill-building and industry excellence. This innovative, on-wheels pan India training programme is designed to deliver hands-on instruction in plasterboard and ceiling installation to more than 25,000+ construction workers, reinforcing Knauf India’s mission to foster innovation and best practices in the construction sector while supporting the Skill India initiative.

The Training Academy was inaugurated at Knauf India’s Head Office in the presence of the company’s global leadership. Attendees included Sumit Bidani, CEO - Knauf India; Budhi Ballav Chilkoti - Regional Commercial Director, MEASA Region - Sales & Service Excellence; Ismael Hani - Regional People Director, MEASA Region - GY KSEMEA/ Central/ HR; and Vijay Mishra - Commercial Director, Knauf India.

Over a six-month period, a fleet of specially equipped training vans will travel to major construction sites across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities of India, transforming them into mobile classrooms. Knauf India’s in-house experts will personally engage with workers, offering hands-on demonstrations and real-time learning experiences using Knauf’s products. They will also provide in-depth guidance on drywall and ceiling installation techniques to the installers.

Workers will gain exposure to the latest installation methods, learn how to optimize efficiency on job sites, and develop an understanding of quality measures essential for delivering high-performance solutions.

VECV sales rise 6.9% in April 2026

VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, recorded sales of 7,318 units in April 2026, compared to 6,846 units in April 2025, registering 6.9 per cent growth.
