LANXESS, HINCOL Partner on Road Construction Technologies

LANXESS India and Hindustan Colas Private Limited (HINCOL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to assess technical and commercial opportunities in bitumen and asphalt modification for India’s infrastructure market.

The companies will conduct laboratory and commercial-scale evaluations of Addipave CR 36, LANXESS’ cross-linking technology for polymer-modified bitumen (PMB). LANXESS will provide the product, technical expertise and trial support, while HINCOL will contribute testing facilities, operational support and performance assessments under local conditions. The trials will examine the technology’s potential to improve production efficiency, consistency, quality and operational safety.

The MoU also covers the evaluation and promotion of Addipave WM 23, a warm-mix asphalt additive. Joint trials and market development activities will assess its potential to lower production and paving temperatures while maintaining road performance standards. Lower energy use, emissions and workplace impacts are among the anticipated benefits.

The agreement establishes a framework for the two companies to explore solutions that could support pavement performance and more sustainable road construction. LANXESS brings expertise in specialty additives and formulation technologies, while HINCOL contributes experience in bitumen technology and road construction projects across India.
