Lemon Tree Signs Wildlife Resort in Pench, Maharashtra

Lemon Tree Hotels has announced the signing of its newest property – Lemon Tree Resort, Pench, Maharashtra. The upcoming wildlife-themed resort will be operated under the group’s management arm, Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.

The Lemon Tree Wildlife Resort in Pench will comprise 60 well-appointed rooms and include a range of facilities such as a restaurant, banquet hall, swimming pool, spa, and various recreational amenities to cater to both leisure and nature-loving travellers. The resort enjoys excellent connectivity, with Nagpur Airport located around 85 km away and Nagpur Railway Station approximately 62 km away. Public and private transport options ensure easy access to the destination.

Pench National Park, situated at the heart of India and shared between Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, provides the resort's scenic backdrop. Named after the River Pence that flows through the region, the 758 sq km national park is among India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. It famously inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, further contributing to its global recognition.

The park is home to a rich variety of fauna, including the Royal Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, jackals, sloth bears, wild boars, striped hyenas, four-horned antelopes, Indian wolves, and peafowl. It was designated a national park in 1975 and later declared a tiger reserve in 1992.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, stated, “We are delighted to further enhance our wildlife portfolio, where we already have five existing properties. This resort will further expand our presence in Maharashtra, where we currently operate 14 hotels and have 10 more in the pipeline.”

The addition of the Pench property reflects Lemon Tree’s continued focus on niche tourism and sustainable hospitality experiences, particularly in India’s growing eco-tourism and wildlife segments.
