Mayors from across India reach Ayodhya to discuss urban development

To discuss urban development issues, around 30 mayors from all over the country met on Sunday in Ayodhya. The two-day conference will be attended by members of the All India Mayors Council.

Ashutosh Tandon, Uttar Pradesh's Minister of Urban Development, spoke at the event, saying that urban development has been a priority since the Indus Valley Civilisation.

He cited that the government is attempting to change the face of the cities in the state by strengthening the urban infrastructure through the Smart City project.

Improved sanitation, drainage, water supply, electricity, and health infrastructure are among the priorities, he added.

Rishikesh Upadhyaya, the mayor of Ayodhya, expressed gratitude to the minister of urban development for his assistance during the Covid period.

Sanyukta Bhatia, the mayor of Lucknow, also mentioned that this is where the concept of Ram Rajya came from. The landscape of Ayodhya will change dramatically over the next four years. She remarked that the development work being done in Ayodhya is being praised across the country.

She explained that this is possible because of the Modi-Yogi combination.

Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, shared his thoughts on the under-construction Ram temple.
