NIIT Launches gNIIT Campaign to Promote Career Flexibility

NIIT Limited, a leading skills and talent development corporation, has launched a new campaign for its flagship programme, gNIIT. The initiative encourages first- and second-year undergraduate students to "explore multiple career skills before committing to a fixed path", reframing education as a journey of experimentation, exploration, and empowerment.
According to the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2021–22, total enrolment in higher education rose to nearly 43.3 million. However, only 50 per cent of graduates are deemed employable, as per the India Skills Report 2025—highlighting a growing gap between academia and industry needs.
gNIIT aims to bridge this gap by offering a learner-centric, future-ready programme that complements college education. It provides students with exposure to in-demand careers, mentor-led guidance, six-month internships*, and placement assistance, all while helping them develop as well-rounded professionals.
The campaign adopts relatable metaphors such as “Trial Room for Careers”, “Buffet for Careers”, and “OTT Platform for Careers” to highlight how gNIIT allows learners to mix, match, and explore career paths at their own pace.
Anshumaan Prasad, Head of Marketing, NIIT Limited & Business Head, NIIT Digital, said:
“Our research revealed students often feel overwhelmed by too many choices and too little time. This campaign offers a structured way to explore and excel, turning college years into a platform for mastering real-world skills.”
Nikhil Mahajan, Chief Growth Officer, BBDO India, added:
“The gNIIT programme addresses a practical need—guidance during a phase of peak curiosity. Our metaphor-led creative approach helps us connect with students in a language they understand.”
The campaign was conceptualised by BBDO, with creative leadership from Josy Paul, Krishna Mani, Ishan Arora, and Astha Vaibhavi. The core team includes Nikhil Mahajan, Jazryk Gill, Sharika Bharat, and Ishita Jain. The campaign films have been directed by Dipro Ghoshal of Happy Making Films.

No glass boxes!

India is moving away from the ‘glass box’ syndrome, all-glass façades that were widely used in commercial buildings in the last two decades but came at a significant environmental cost given the country’s predominantly hot and humid climate. Poor thermal performance, excessive heat gain and dependency on mechanical cooling systems made buildings with glass façades energy guzzlers and significantly increased their carbon footprint. That said, it’s important to be aware that “glass is not the enemy,” points out Heena Bhargava, Architect, Architecture Discipline. “How it ..

Why do pavements fail?

India’s highways continue to expand at a healthy pace. But conversations on the surface quality of highways are growing louder because major deficiencies and black spots continue to be identified, and they are cause for concern.“Road surface roughness causes vehicle vibrations that, in turn, can affect the performance of drivers,” explains Dr V K Gahlot, Road Safety Auditor, Centre for Research and Sustainable Development (CfRSD). “Continuous exposure may induce fatigue, a contributory factor to road accidents. Road surface roughness also affects the vehicle operating cost...
