What is the current market scenario of the construction equipment sector? Against this background, how does an event like bC India prove advantageous to the industry?
The current market scenario for the road construction equipment segment is encouraging and there is overall buoyancy in the market conditions. The commitment and action plan of the government to road-building will definitely increase the demand for construction equipment for the next five to seven years. Given this upbeat market sentiment, an event like bC India will definitely prove advantageous for the industry to showcase the latest technology equipment and for customers to evaluate the choices available.

What are your expectations from bC India 2014? How can one benefit from exhibiting at the event?
Our objective of participating in bC India is to showcase the strengths of Ammann Apollo û seeing is believing. As the market picks up, this will help us in strengthening our leadership position.

Speaking from your experience, is the number of sales generated through this event more or are there more enquires?
Participation in an exhibition like bC India is not just for generating sales. This is a long term marketing investment that we are making. Yes, sales are generated at the event and on an average, around 20-25 per cent of the enquiries generated during the event translate into business as well.

How do you see the path forward for the construction equipment sector? Through this event, what are the opportunities you foresee for your business?
The road construction sector is completely dependent on government policies and spending. Here, we see a lot of positive signs. So the future will be good for the industry. We expect a compounded annual growth of 7-8 per cent for the next five to six years.
