Randhawa Launches Rs. 8.42 mn Development Works in Bahu

Jammu MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa has launched two development works in Bahu Fort and Ward No. 47, addressing long-standing demands for improved civic infrastructure in the constituency. The projects have a combined estimated cost of Rs. 8.42 mn and are being implemented through Jammu Smart City and the Jammu Municipal Corporation.

The first project involves the development of the Ram Leela Ground at Bahu Fort at an estimated cost of Rs. 6 mn. Local residents had repeatedly sought the improvement of the public space, which is considered important for community activities. The commencement of work marks the start of the long-awaited development of the ground.

The second project covers the upgrading of a lane and drain at Bagh Mohalla in Ward No. 47. The work, being undertaken through the Jammu Municipal Corporation, has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 2.42 mn. Residents welcomed the start of the project, which is intended to improve local access and drainage conditions.

Randhawa was accompanied during the launch by Mandal president Surjeet Singh and members of his team, along with a large gathering of residents. Officials from Jammu Smart City and the Jammu Municipal Corporation were also present when the works commenced.

Randhawa said the development programme was focused on converting genuine public demands into sanctioned projects and visible work on the ground. He described the Ram Leela Ground as an important community space whose improvement had been awaited by residents, while stressing that basic civic infrastructure directly affects everyday life.

He said issues such as lane and drain upgrades would continue to receive priority and added that the development of Bahu would proceed with an emphasis on public needs, stronger civic infrastructure and equitable progress across the constituency.
