RVNL To Execute Infrastructure Projects In Goa

"Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Goa to collaborate on the development and implementation of infrastructure projects in the state. Under the agreement, the state-owned company will act as the project executing agency for projects covered under the memorandum of understanding. The firm did not provide details on the value of the agreement, the nature of the projects or implementation timelines.

The parties will work together to identify and implement projects on mutually agreed terms and conditions, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Friday. The memorandum formalises a channel for state and central expertise to be applied to local infrastructure needs. Project selection and procurement processes will be governed by the terms agreed between the two parties.

The memorandum comes as Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd continues to secure new orders across rail and infrastructure sectors. Earlier this week Siemens Ltd said it had received an order worth about Rs 2,630 million (mn) from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd for overhead rail electrification technologies for the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line project in Uttarakhand, covering rigid and flexible overhead catenary systems across tunnels, bridges, open routes, yards and related infrastructure. The contract spans about 102.5 track kilometres.

Separately, the company received a Letter of Award from state-owned National Mineral Development Corporation for setting up buffer stockpiles and a blending yard with a handling capacity of 10 million tonnes (mn t) per annum at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. That project is valued at Rs 29,770 million (mn), equivalent to Rs 29.77 billion (bn), and is scheduled for completion within 42 months. The projects add to the firm's order book and provide a mix of rail and logistics work.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd were trading at Rs 225.69 on Friday, down zero point three one per cent from the previous close. The memorandum with Goa is a formal step that positions the company to execute state level infrastructure assignments under its mandate."
