Silvin's CPVC Additive Gets NSF® Certification for Safety

Silvin Additives, a prominent manufacturer of PVC and CPVC additives, has secured the NSF® Guideline 533 certification for its CPVC Super1Pack formulation. This certification affirms the additive’s compliance with stringent international health and safety standards for products intended for drinking water applications.
Awarded by NSF, a globally respected public health and safety authority based in Michigan, United States, the certification is granted only after rigorous product testing and inspection. NSF® Guideline 533 specifically assesses the safety of chemical ingredients used in products that come into contact with drinking water. Meeting this benchmark confirms that the CPVC Super1Pack meets the highest standards of regulatory and health-effect compliance.
Silvin’s additive solutions are widely deployed in sectors including plumbing, agriculture, soil-waste-rainwater (SWR) drainage, and in column and riser systems. The certification enhances Silvin’s credibility as a trusted supplier to manufacturers of pipes and fittings, particularly in applications related to potable water systems.
Jagat Chokshi, Managing Director of Silvin Additives, remarked:
“Quality and safety are central to everything we do. Our additives play a vital role in ensuring the safe delivery of drinking water. Securing NSF® certification reflects our ongoing commitment to global standards and will enable us to expand our footprint in international markets.”
Founded in 1984 as a producer of medical-grade PVC compounds, Silvin has grown into a leading supplier with a robust additives portfolio and a strong domestic and global presence. The company currently holds a 0.60 per cent share of the global PVC pipe market and 9 per cent in the CPVC pipes and fittings segment. In India, it accounts for 5 per cent of the PVC pipes market and an impressive 22 per cent share in CPVC pipes and fittings.
With continued innovation and expansion into additives for OPVC pipes, Silvin is consolidating its leadership in the global additives sector while reinforcing its commitment to safe water infrastructure.
