Skoda Auto India to Hike Car Prices by up to 1.2 Per Cent from October 1

Skoda Auto India will increase prices of its cars by up to 1.2 per cent from October 1, citing rising input and operational costs. The revision will apply across the company’s India portfolio, although the extent of the increase will differ by model and variant.

The maximum increase has been capped at Rs. 20,000. The company said the revised prices would be applied at the ex-showroom level, meaning the adjustment will affect the listed price of vehicles before registration, insurance and other on-road charges are added.

The price revision will not be uniform across the portfolio. Customers purchasing different models or variants may therefore see different increases, depending on the vehicle and configuration selected. Skoda Auto India has not provided a model-wise breakdown of the revised prices.

The company’s India portfolio includes the Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, Kodiaq, Octavia RS and Superb. The adjustment will consequently cover its range of sport utility vehicles, sedans and performance-oriented models sold in the country.

The price increase comes as the automaker faces higher input and operational expenses. Skoda Auto India said the revision was being made to account for these costs while applying the change across its product range from the beginning of October.

The company’s announcement gives buyers a limited period before the revised prices take effect. Vehicles purchased from October 1 will be subject to the new ex-showroom prices, with the final increase determined by the model and variant selected. The maximum revision remains restricted to Rs. 20,000, despite the percentage-based adjustment applying across the portfolio.

They have a decision-latency problem. It takes about 8.7 hours to detect a disruption and more than 40 more to understand its impact, all before anyone acts. Meanwhile, disruption costs the global economy an estimated $184 billion a year.Enterprises already own excellent systems of record. What they lack is a system of action.
