Sugatsune Unveils Advanced Components for Safer Machinery

Sugatsune, a global leader in industrial hardware, has introduced a new series of high-performance components aimed at enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and motion precision in diverse industrial settings. At the core of these innovations is its proprietary Motion Design Technology (MDT) platform—an engineering system that allows for fine-tuned mechanical motion, ensuring better control, user safety, and design flexibility.

The lineup includes an array of precision motion solutions tailored for heavy-duty and safety-critical applications. These range from free-stop hinges and lift-assist mechanisms to soft-close dampers and multi-linear motion components—all engineered to support smoother, safer workflows in control panels, machinery, and enclosure systems.

Among the key products is the CJH handle, designed for control boxes and industrial panels. Offering both strength and clean aesthetics—what Sugatsune calls "beautility"—the CJH features colour-coded caps in grey, yellow, black, orange, red, and blue for intuitive and safe use. It supports both front and back screw mounting, providing adaptable installation in demanding conditions.

To address stability on uneven surfaces, Sugatsune has released the ADPS and ADP stainless steel levelling glides, available in 304 and 316 grades for corrosion resistance and long-term durability. These glides feature a hexagonal nut for easy adjustment and are designed to bear heavy industrial loads reliably.

For machinery that requires precise lid positioning, the HG S Swivel Torque Hinge offers smooth motion with free-stop functionality at any angle. Built with MDT and capable of 20,000 open/close cycles, the hinge includes a central hole for cable routing—making it ideal for large control panels and heavy machinery with integrated wiring.

The HG PA202 Lift Assist Hinge simplifies lifting top-opening lids in food-grade or hygienic machinery. It integrates spring tension for lift assist, a built-in soft-close damper, and adjustable torque for performance customisation. The concealed design also supports high cleanliness standards, with optimal function achieved when the lid’s centre of gravity sits above its rotation axis.

Sugatsune’s extensive torque hinge range exemplifies the company’s MDT design ethos—delivering smooth, reliable, and ergonomic lid control. Engineers can choose from swivel torque hinges with cable-routing, spring-assist and damper-based hinges, pivot and detachable torque options, and two-axis motion systems. For design-sensitive applications, concealed torque hinges ensure a clean finish, while stainless steel variants guarantee performance in outdoor or harsh environments.

Also featured is the MC MS45 Sealed Magnetic Catch, which combines a strong neodymium magnet with a silicone rubber housing to enable secure, silent closure. Offered in light and dark grey, it fits seamlessly into commercial and industrial equipment and is compatible with counter plates like the MC JMP45 or AS 68. It is rated for use in temperatures up to 80°C, though not suitable for acidic, alkaline, or high-moisture environments.

Together, these innovations reflect Sugatsune’s commitment to equipping engineers with advanced, maintenance-friendly solutions for complex motion and safety requirements in industrial systems.
