Syensqo Launches Industry-First Certified Circular Elastomers and Lubricant Fluids

Syensqo, a global leader in high-performance specialty polymers, has announced the launch of the industry’s first portfolio of certified circular-content elastomers and lubricant fluids, now available globally. The new materials, produced at the company’s Spinetta Marengo facility in Piedmont, Italy, feature up to 29% post-industrial recycled (PIR) hydrofluoric acid (HF) via a mass balance certification system.

This innovation supports both circularity and supply chain resilience, responding directly to growing demand from customers seeking sustainable alternatives in high-performance materials—especially in critical industries like semiconductors, automotive, and industrial manufacturing.

“Our customers are setting ambitious circularity goals, and we’re proud to be the first to help them meet those targets with a certified solution,” said Tom Wood, Senior Vice President and Head of Product & Asset Management for Syensqo’s Specialty Polymers. “This portfolio sets a new benchmark for circular innovation in fluoro-based elastomers and lubricants.”

Derived from fluorspar—a mineral classified as critical by both the U.S. Energy Act and EU Critical Raw Materials Act—Syensqo’s circular solution replaces traditional extraction and refining processes with in-plant recycling of fluor waste. This on-site recovery process not only shortens the supply chain but also minimizes exposure to geopolitical, trade, and ESG risks.

BMC Gets CRZ Nod For Rs 40 Million Gorai Bridge Rebuild

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has secured Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for the reconstruction of the Poisar River bridge in Gorai, located in Mumbai’s western suburbs. However, the proposed demolition of the existing 100-metre bridge has sparked opposition from local residents, who claim it serves as the only direct access route between the Lower and Upper Koliwada areas. The three-decade-old bridge, situated within the CRZ buffer zone, was recently declared structurally unsafe following a civic audit. The BMC has sanctioned its reconstruction at an estimated cost ..

Encroachments Delay Rs 1 Billion Ghatkopar Bridge Project

The construction of a new cable-stayed rail overbridge at Ghatkopar and the widening of the Andheri–Ghatkopar Link Road (AGLR) have been delayed due to the presence of nearly 250 encroached structures on both sides of the road. In response, Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani has directed officials to carry out a structural audit of the existing bridge over the railway line and enforce temporary restrictions on heavy vehicles to ensure public safety. The bridge, which starts at the Golibar Road junction near LBS Marg and extends up to the Eastern Express Highway (EEH), serves as a critic..
