This extensive work covered various areas, including Woraiyur, Srirangam, Ariyamangalam, and Abhishekapuram. With the completion of this phase, the UGD network now spans over 250 kilometres, significantly enhancing the city's sewage management capabilities.

Trichy Corporation Commissioner, Mr. V. P. Thandapani, stated that the completion of Phase II will address the long-standing issue of sewage overflow in several areas, especially during the monsoon season. He emphasised that this project is part of the broader initiative to modernise the city's infrastructure and improve public health.

The next phase of the UGD project will focus on extending the network to the remaining uncovered areas and upgrading existing facilities to ensure efficient operation. The corporation plans to invest an additional ?250 crore in these efforts, aiming to complete the entire project within the next two years.
