Uber India unveils 'Emission Savings' feature for sustainable commutes

Uber India launched 'Emission Savings'. Riders can track carbon dioxide emissions saved by opting for Uber Green vehicles. In the Uber app, users can choose Uber Green, an all-electric ride category, in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The initiative encourages low-emission lifestyles by educating individuals about their environmental contributions.

According to Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations at Uber India, users should understand the impact of their actions on the environment. Information about the scale of their impact can help users make more informed decisions about sustainability in their daily lives.

The 'Emission Savings' feature offers several functionalities to users: ? Users can access the feature by tapping on 'Estimated CO2 saved' in the Account section of the Uber app, allowing them to see the emissions saved by choosing Uber Green. ? To help users better understand their emissions savings, the feature includes a graphic illustrating what their CO2 emission savings are equivalent to. ? The emissions saved for an Uber Green trip represent the estimated amount of CO2 emissions avoided, on average, compared to an Uber Premier trip covering the same distance.
