Vahan.ai Expands into Textiles, Electronics to Power Factory Hiring

Vahan.ai, India’s largest AI-powered blue-collar hiring platform, has announced the expansion of its hiring operations into the textile and electronics manufacturing sectors, deploying recently raised strategic investments to support India’s fast-accelerating industrial growth. The move aligns with India’s broader ambition to build a $1 trillion manufacturing economy and increase manufacturing’s share of GDP to over 25 per cent under the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.

As part of the expansion, Vahan.ai is mobilising workers from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to manufacturing hubs in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, strengthening workforce availability in key production clusters. The platform has begun working closely with large textile and electronics manufacturers to meet high-volume hiring requirements, enabling faster, more reliable labour deployment at scale.

Textiles and electronics are emerging as critical drivers of India’s manufacturing momentum. The textile sector contributes 2.3 per cent to GDP and 13 per cent to industrial output, with expected annual growth of 15–20 per cent over the next five years. Electronics manufacturing, which has generated nearly 25 lakh jobs over the past decade, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 27 per cent between FY23 and FY28. The China Plus One strategy and rising global demand have further boosted India’s role in global supply chains, with over 70 per cent of iPhones sold in the US now assembled in India.

Vahan.ai’s entry into manufacturing builds on its scale and reach, having enabled more than one million job placements across over 920 cities, primarily in sectors such as quick commerce, mobility and warehousing. Strategic investments from Lemmatree (a Temasek fund), Persol Group and Khosla Ventures have strengthened the company’s AI-driven recruitment infrastructure, allowing it to expand into labour-intensive industries such as apparel, electronics assembly and precision manufacturing.

Commenting on the expansion, Mr. Madhav Krishna, CEO and Founder, Vahan.ai, said, “India’s strengthening manufacturing landscape will not be driven by factories alone. It will be propelled by people… By activating talent pools in states such as Jharkhand, Bihar and UP and enabling their mobility to Karnataka’s and Tamil Nadu’s booming textile and electronics clusters, we are not just filling jobs. We are unlocking upward mobility.”

With its manufacturing foray, Vahan.ai aims to become a key digital workforce enabler for India’s next phase of industrial growth, supporting both employers’ scale-up needs and workers’ aspirations for stable, formal employment.
