Youdha Reaches 1,000-Unit Mark for ePod Electric Three-Wheeler

Youdha, the electric commercial mobility brand of Zuperia Auto, has manufactured its 1,000th ePod electric three-wheeler. The New Delhi-based company said the milestone marks the completion of its initial phase and provides a base for expanding operations across India.

The company plans to broaden its product range across cargo and passenger applications while increasing its dealer and service network. It also intends to enter markets in Southern India, where adoption of electric three-wheelers has been supported by e-commerce logistics and shared mobility services.

Youdha is also exploring commercial opportunities outside India, although it has not identified specific markets or provided a timeline for such expansion. Chief executive officer Ayush Lohia attributed the production milestone to support from customers, dealers and financiers, and said the company would focus on long-term channel and customer relationships as it expands its distribution infrastructure.

Electric three-wheelers have become an important part of India’s electric vehicle transition, particularly for last-mile goods delivery and short-distance passenger transport. Lower fuel and maintenance costs compared with petrol and diesel vehicles have supported demand among small fleet operators and individual owners, while government incentives, including those under the FAME II scheme, have also contributed to adoption.

The segment includes established manufacturers such as Mahindra Electric and Piaggio, alongside newer companies competing on design, total cost of ownership and after-sales support. Financing remains a constraint for many owner-operators, making relationships with non-banking financial institutions important for reaching tier-two and tier-three markets. Youdha’s ePod is aimed at commercial users, with range, payload, charging access and service turnaround among the factors likely to influence purchasing decisions. The company has not disclosed production capacity or revenue figures.

Cement Prices Likely to Rise Rs. 10-15 per Bag from Mid-October

Cement manufacturers in India are likely to raise prices by Rs. 10-15 per bag from mid-October, as they seek to offset persistent increases in power and fuel costs. Emkay Research said its channel checks indicated a high probability of an increase from October 12, supported by the start of the busy construction season and favourable demand-supply conditions. The sector had implemented similar rate adjustments of Rs. 10-15 per bag during the first quarter, but the increases were insufficient to cover higher operating costs. Prices also softened during July and August because of the monsoon, wid..
