Jindal Aluminium Marks 56 Years of Industrial Leadership

Jindal Aluminium Limited has marked its 56th Inception Day, celebrating a legacy built on vision, resilience and manufacturing leadership. Founded in 1968 and incorporated in 1970 by Padma Bhushan Dr Sitaram Jindal, the company has grown into a major force in India’s downstream aluminium sector under the leadership of Pragun Jindal Khaitan.

The company is India’s largest manufacturer of aluminium extruded products and the second-largest producer of aluminium flat-rolled products. With a turnover of around Rs 5,500 crore and a workforce of over 4,000, Jindal Aluminium continues to strengthen its position through scale, engineering capability and long-term market relevance.

Its manufacturing network spans three plants in Bengaluru, Dabaspet and Bhiwadi, with a combined production capacity of 2.55 lakh metric tonnes across extrusion and flat-rolled products. These facilities are backed by value-added capabilities such as fabrication, powder coating and anodising. Two of the three plants operate fully on renewable energy, underlining the company’s focus on responsible production.

Jindal Aluminium has also aligned its business with emerging sectors such as clean energy, electric mobility, aerospace, defence, robotics and AI-led infrastructure. It is the only company in India to hold both AS 9100D Aerospace and NADCAP Heat Treating certifications. Its wider certification portfolio includes ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and PED by HSB Global Standards, UK.

The company’s expansion strategy received a major boost in 2021 with the acquisition of the Bhiwadi assets of Indo Alusys Industries Limited, backed by an investment of Rs 400 crore. The move increased extrusion capacity by nearly 40 per cent compared to pre-acquisition levels and strengthened both regional employment and operational scale.

With an estimated 25 per cent share of the domestic aluminium extrusion market and exports to more than 55 countries contributing 10 to 12 per cent of total revenue, Jindal Aluminium remains well placed for future growth. As demand for aluminium rises across advanced industries, the company’s 56th Inception Day reflects both a strong legacy and a forward-looking growth agenda.
