Vibhor Steel Begins Pipe Supply from New Odisha Plant

Vibhor Steel Tubes Ltd (VSTL), a Haryana-based producer of high-quality steel tubes and pipes, has commenced supply of Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) and Galvanised (GI) pipes from its new greenfield plant at Sundargarh in Odisha.
Commercial production at the 156,000 MTPA facility began in July 2025. The plant, built with an investment of Rs 1.19 billion over 30 months, manufactures a range of value-added steel products including crash barriers, power transmission line towers, high mast lighting poles, octagonal poles, and monopoles. With this new capacity, VSTL’s total production capacity has increased to 377,000 MTPA across three plants in Maharashtra, Telangana, and Odisha.
Vijay Kaushik, Chairman and Executive Director of Vibhor Steel Tubes, said: “The commencement of supply from the Sundargarh facility marks a key milestone in strengthening our production and distribution network. The state-of-the-art plant will help us serve customers more efficiently, boost margins through high-value products, and expand into newer markets with a stronger export focus.”
Vibhor Steel manufactures a wide range of steel products including ERW pipes, hot-dipped galvanised pipes, hollow section pipes, and primer-painted pipes. The company has a contract manufacturing agreement with Jindal Pipes, producing finished goods under the brand name Jindal Star, which contributes over 80 per cent of its turnover.
VSTL made its stock market debut in February 2024, raising Rs 721.7 million through its IPO. With the addition of the new plant, the company now serves key western and southern markets including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
For the quarter ended 30 June 2025, VSTL reported a net profit of Rs 31.4 million on operating income of Rs 2.31 billion. For FY2024-25, it recorded operating income of Rs 9.96 billion compared with Rs 10.73 billion in the previous year, while standalone net profit stood at Rs 117.7 million, compared with Rs 177.2 million in FY2023-24. The company attributed its margin stability to a strategic shift towards value-added products and increased ERW tube volumes.
