IndiGo to upgrade navigation technology in its A320 planes

The nation's biggest airline IndiGo has selected NAVBLUE, an Airbus Services company, to upgrade navigation technology in some of its A320 aircrafts and that will assist pilots to navigate challenging airspaces with more accuracy and predictability.

The leading carrier will boost a part of its A320 aircraft fleet with Required Navigation Performance with Authorisation Required ( RNP AR) capability. With Airbus' RNP AR Upgrade, IndiGo pilots will be able to navigate mountainous areas or other challenging airspaces with accuracy and predictability, as per NAVBLUE. NAVBLUE is into flight functions and air traffic management solutions.

IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta told the media that the airline has full confidence in NAVBLUE's expertise which will assist pilots to navigate safely via difficult terrains like curvy or hilly regions during the takeoff or landing.They believe this will improve the operational safety of the aircraft while additionally enhancing efficiency in the long run. Since 2006, the airline has been a customer of NAVBLUE.
