Indias first Aerotropolis (Airport City) at Durgapur in West Bengal will be operational from December 2014. The 2,000-acre Kazi Nazrul Islam International Airport (Andal Airport) will initially host domestic flight operations. Launched to cater to the Durgapur-Asansol urban centres, the project is being developed by Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Ltd (BAPL) in association with Singapores Changi Airports International (CAI).
