Mangalore airport gets new air traffic system

To enhance the safety of flights at Mangalore International Airport, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has commissioned the automated air traffic management system – Aircon 2010, which is imported from a Spain-based company Indra.

A press statement by JT Radhakrishna, the Mangalore airport Director, on September 5 said that AAI had received approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for commissioning the 'Aircon 2010'.

The airport has put the system under vigorous safety assessment and extensive trail operations before it was commissioned, Radhakrishna said.

The Aircon 2100 helps to enhance the safety of flights by providing the air traffic controllers with information of air movements from radar, flight plans, direction finders, and air-ground data link messages. The system is capable of processing data from other radar feeds such as Bangalore, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram to increase the area of radar coverage.

BCCL Hands Over Dugdha Coal Washery To JSW Steel

Bharat Coking Coal has handed over the Dugdha Coal Washery to JSW Steel, marking the first coal washery asset monetisation under the Ministry of Coal's asset monetisation programme.
