The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to empower the Vigilance department with hi-tech equipment. These devices will enable civic employees to detect the quality of material used by contractors and the work carried out by them. With the acquisitions, the department will be able to check whether the work has been carried out as per the requirements laid down in the tender conditions. The vigilance department has been permitted to purchase different machines based on laser technology, ultrasound, spectrograph, magnetic technology, infrared, motion sensors and automatic radioactive technology.
