NHAI approves conversion of NH highway in Agartala

NHAI has approved Tripura government's proposal for conversion of the Agartala-Sabroom national highway into four-lane. NHAI approved consultant agency, Scot Wilson India Ltd, was asked to prepare a detailed project report to execute the plan which is expected to be completed by 2013. The 133 km long highway will be reduced to 127 km as geometric improvement will be done in 119 locations and will avoid passage through Agartala town and Sipahijala wild life sanctuary. The project entails an outlay of about Rs 1,729 crore.
