Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to inaugurate twenty-two infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1.04 billion in Karbi Anglong on 17 April. The ceremony will be held near Rengbonghom Higher Secondary School in Diphu.

In a post, the Chief Minister stated that the projects aim to enhance connectivity, celebrate local heritage, and boost the region’s natural and cultural appeal. The projects were executed under various Public Works Department (PWD) schemes. Major works include road widening and improvements connecting key points such as NH329, Rongmonjir, Rongkimei, Taralangso, and Diphu.

Two reinforced cement concrete (RCC) bridges have also been completed — one on the Disagebeda to Manja road via Terang Gaon and another on Diphu Dillai Saharijan (DDS) Road.

A standout project is the road from Birola (Taralangso) to Rongkimei near NH-36, with an allocation of Rs 441.5 million, making it the highest-value individual scheme. Other highlights include the construction of a four-lane road, a welcome gate at Lahorijan, statues at Rengbonghom and 5th Mile, and the upgradation of internal roads such as MRL17 DAV to Monlom.
