Haryana Pollution Board Issues Notices To 58 Dwarka Expressway Sites

The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has served show-cause notices to 58 construction sites along the Dwarka Expressway after inspections found multiple environmental lapses. The notices require project promoters and contractors to explain non-compliance with pollution control norms within the stipulated period. The action follows routine monitoring aimed at curbing dust, debris and improper waste handling at active construction zones.

Inspectors documented inadequate dust suppression measures, poor storage of construction material, uncontrolled runoff and the absence of proper solid waste disposal systems at several locations. The HSPCB has indicated that such lapses can exacerbate air and water pollution and affect nearby residential areas and green belts. Site owners have been asked to submit corrective action plans and evidence of remedial steps to the board.

The notices outline potential consequences if satisfactory responses are not received, ranging from fines to orders to halt construction activity until compliance is achieved. The board has set deadlines for replies and will carry out follow-up inspections to verify implementation of mitigation measures. Officials have warned that persistent violations will attract stricter enforcement under relevant environmental statutes.
