NHAI Closes Illegal Entry at Telibandha on Ring Road No. 1

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has closed an illegal entry point near commercial establishments at Telibandha on Ring Road No. 1 in Raipur as part of measures to improve road safety and traffic management. Anti-encroachment action is also continuing in the Bhatagaon area of the ring road.

The action is aimed at preventing unauthorised access to national highways and ensuring smoother movement through the capital city. NHAI is taking continuous steps to remove encroachments, control illegal entry routes and address parking-related issues on roads under its jurisdiction.

The authority said the Supreme Court and High Courts have emphasised the importance of keeping public roads safe and accessible. The removal of unauthorised encroachments and access points is being carried out under applicable rules and in accordance with directions issued by competent courts.

NHAI Regional Officer Alok Kumar said road safety and smooth traffic flow remained the authority’s priorities. He noted that unauthorised access points and encroachments can increase the risk of accidents, and said the ongoing measures were intended to keep traffic on national highways safe, organised and uninterrupted.

Alongside the anti-encroachment drive, NHAI is conducting patchwork repairs on national highways. Damaged sections and potholes are being identified and repaired to improve road conditions and provide safer journeys for motorists. The authority has appealed to citizens and commuters to avoid unauthorised median cuts, illegal parking and illegal entry points, and to cooperate with efforts to maintain orderly traffic movement.
