1.9 MW Rooftop Solar Project Tender by Railways in West Bengal

The project is expected to cost INR 67.42 million and has a 12-month completion window from the date of getting the work order. The opening of bids will take place on 24 January, 2023, and bids must be filed by that date. A sum of INR 487,100 earnest money deposit is required from each bidder. Designing, fabricating, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning 38 units of grid-connected rooftop solar systems for 50 KW of three-phase power with voltage ranging from 200 V to 1,000 V are all included in the scope of work. Any place must have a minimum installed capacity of 10 KW.

Additionally, components and accessories for the solar system, including as junction boxes, cables, earthing, and junction box mounting structures, must be supplied by the chosen developers. The solar module's flaws and failures must be guaranteed by the developer for at least the first five years after commissioning. In the previous seven years, bidders were required to have completed three projects of a similar nature that each cost at least 30% of the project cost, two projects of a similar nature that each cost at least 40% of the project cost, or one project of a similar nature that cost at least 60% of the project cost.

Work experience certificates from publicly traded firms or organisations with a government affiliation that have an average annual revenue of at least INR 5 billion during the previous three fiscal years would be taken into consideration for the tender. The business must also have been formed at least five years prior to the tender closing date, be listed on the BSE or National Stock Exchange, and meet other requirements. Indian Railways will seek to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 and is dedicated to 100% electrification of the broad gauge railway network, the ministry of railways' Ashwini Vaishnav announced in December. Up till October 2022, Railways have installed about 142 MW of solar power on unoccupied lots and rooftops.
