Railways to construct sidings on Mangalore-Hassan route

With an aim to tackle the concern over increasing capacity in the Mangalore-Hassan route, the South Western Railway will construct sidings worth Rs 9-12 crore. While the project is yet to receive an in-principle approval from the Commissioner of Rail Safety, it will be funded by the SPV Hassan-Mangalore Rail Development Corporation and the Railways will fund the cost of employees.
