Cabinet Clears Bangalore Metro Phase 3 with Rs.156.11 Bn Allocation

The Indian Cabinet has given the green light to Phase 3 of the Bangalore Metro Rail project, sanctioning a budget of ?156.11 billion. This major infrastructure initiative aims to expand the city?s metro network, addressing the growing transportation needs of Bangalore?s rapidly increasing population.

The Phase 3 expansion will introduce several new lines and extend existing ones, connecting key urban and suburban areas. This phase is expected to add significant mileage to the metro network, making it easier for residents to commute across the city. The project is designed to reduce traffic congestion, lower pollution levels, and provide a sustainable mode of transportation for Bangalore's citizens.

VECV Sales Rise 7.8 Per Cent In May 2026

VE Commercial Vehicles recorded sales of 7,978 units in May 2026, compared to 7,401 units in May 2025, registering growth of 7.8 per cent.
