The joint venture (JV) of a Russian rolling stock major and a railway PSU commissioned the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur where 1,920 new age sleeper coaches for Vande Bharat trains or 120 train sets will be manufactured. The first train set may be rolled out in the next two years. The JV, Kinet Railway Solutions has got the contract for manufacturing coaches and maintaining them for 35 years. The Rail Coach Factory spread over 351 acres is equipped with 11 advanced assembly stations. Earlier it was a 16-coach train but now it has been decided to make it 24-coach Sleeper Vande Bharat train.
