MIA Construction Wins Bhubaneswar Metro Depot Contract

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded MIA Construction Pvt. Ltd. the civil works contract for the Phulapokhari Depot and Workshop of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1. This significant contract involves the construction of the depot, workshop, and Operations Control Centre buildings on a sprawling 16-hectare site.

The scope of work includes essential infrastructure elements such as plumbing, drainage, and road development. MIA's winning bid of Rs 797.5 million was notably lower than DMRC's estimated cost of Rs 1.04 billion , demonstrating the company's competitive edge and cost-effectiveness.

The Phulapokhari Depot is a critical component of the Bhubaneswar Metro's ambitious 26 km Line-1 project. The depot will serve as the main hub for maintenance and operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the metro line. The project is slated for completion within 36 months, marking a significant milestone in Bhubaneswar's urban transportation development.

This project aligns with the broader vision of enhancing public transportation infrastructure in Bhubaneswar, aimed at providing efficient and reliable metro services to the city's residents. The collaboration between DMRC and MIA Construction is expected to set new benchmarks in quality and timely execution of metro rail projects in India.

With this contract, MIA Construction reinforces its reputation as a key player in the infrastructure sector, particularly in metro rail projects. The successful completion of this project will contribute significantly to the overall success of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1, benefiting thousands of daily commuters.
