MPMRCL expands workforce to meet Indore Metro Project's deadline

The MP Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has increased its workforce by 25 times to meet the September 2023 trial run deadline for its proposed Indore Metro in Super Priority Corridor.

MP Shankar Lalwani and MPMRCL officials, including managing director Manish Singh, reviewed the Indore Metro Rail Project's progress on February 4. The trial run of the Super Corridor's 6 km stretch is expected to begin in the first week of September. Singh stated that all issues, such as drawing and design approval, had been resolved with the cooperation of the relevant agencies. The same efforts are being made to expedite the construction of Hotel Radisson Square.

The MD stated that DGMs, senior DGMs, and managerial-level officials had been stationed in Indore and Bhopal to monitor the project, as well as a 25-fold increase in staff and night shifts to help meet the deadline. He also mentioned that the coaches they expect to receive by the end of May are being manufactured in Baroda at the moment.

Furthermore, he stated that the work at the stabling yards, inspection pits, and depots is moving quickly. The due third-party track inspection is expected to be delivered to Indore by February 20.

In addition, another agency has begun preparations to lay the tracks on the elevated corridor. He concluded by saying that the work to begin a trial and then operational run of the Metro Rail is progressing quickly and satisfactorily, and that construction of the stations, which will have advanced facilities, has already begun. This information was provided by Lalwani.
