NMRC to speed up work to get govt nod for Noida new metro line DPR

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (NMRC) has decided to expedite work to get government approval for preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for a new metro line to Western Greater Noida.

According to a statement, NMRC also plans to provide connectivity to the passengers between NMRCs Aqua Line and Delhi Metro Rail Corporations (DMRCs) Blue Line between Sectors 51 and 52 metro stations.

Including these, some other decisions were also taken at the 28th Board Meeting of NMRC, which operates a rail project between Noida and Greater Noida in Delhi.

Managing Director of NMRC, Ritu Maheshwari, said that the Board has decided to expedite the government's approval for preparing DPR from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V by November.

She further added that it decided to provide alternative seamless connectivity for passengers of Aqua Line and Blue Line between Sectors 51 and 52 metro stations on priority.

She said that the Board members are also deciding to explore efficient bus routes and providing bus services on small buses to enhance metro ridership and provide last-mile connectivity to the passengers.

NMRC Board has passed approval for the post of Director and gave the nod to the balance sheet for FY 20-21.

The Board meeting was conducted online at Sector 6 of the Noida Authority. Chairman of NMRC and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Additional Secretary Kamran Rizvi were present in the meeting.
