RailTel Bags Maintenance Order From East Coast Railway

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has secured a work order from East Coast Railway valued at Rs 245.3 million (Rs 245.3 mn) inclusive of taxes. The company received the Letter of Acceptance on 19 March 2026 and disclosed the contract under applicable listing regulations. The order relates to operational support within the railway network and will be executed as a service agreement. The value was provided in the company disclosure and is structured as a fixed term engagement.

The contract involves outsourcing manpower for signalling and telecommunications maintenance in the Khurda Road Division and is confined to routine maintenance activities. The scope is limited to workforce deployment and does not include construction work or system upgrades. The arrangement is designed to support the functioning of existing infrastructure and to maintain service continuity. The contract therefore focuses on operations rather than capital expenditure.

The execution period spans two years, with completion expected by 18 March 2028, and the timeline aligns with maintenance requirements of the division. RailTel disclosed the order under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015 and referenced additional guidance from the SEBI Master Circular dated 30 January 2026. The company also confirmed that the contract does not involve related party transactions and that there is no promoter group interest in the awarding entity. The firm characterised the work as service based and routine in nature.

As of 23 March 2026 at 11:46 am the share price of RailTel stood at Rs 258.60, representing a 4.75 per cent decrease from the previous close. The order adds to RailTel's ongoing maintenance related contracts within the railway sector and is expected to contribute to recurring service revenues over the contract term. Stakeholders will monitor execution progress and compliance with regulatory disclosures as the contract proceeds.
