Orient cement to triple capacity by 2020

CK Birla Group´s Orient Cement will be expanding its capacity three fold by 2020. With plans to increase its capacity to 15 mtpa as against the current 5 mtpa, the company is in talks with three cement companies to acquire manufacturing plant of up to 2 mtpa. It is also said to be eyeing a plant in Madhya Pradesh or Chhattisgarh. That said, a 3-mtpa facility at Gulbarga in Karnataka will be operational by next year. Contact: Orient Cement.
