Siemens launches Ruggedcom RX1400 Router for large scale WAN deployments especially suited for industrial usage. A multi-protocol network with an integrated firewall, this device combines the ethernet switch and router to various connectivity options for the WAN. It applies to communicating the metering data to a smart city´s control center via a WAN and uses futuristic LTE network functions for QoS management. It has a dual sim slot and can also be used with 2G or 3G and with a SFP fibre optic, it becomes a wired network.
