The Flipspaces Story - Using Technology to Reimagine Interior Design

Individuals who have a unique vision stand out in a world when everyone wants to be distinctive. Kunal Sharma, who had previously dabbled in entrepreneurship and had a successful build-scale exit in ed-tech under his belt, had his epiphany moment while playing a multiplayer game at home. Given their shared love in music, he met Ritesh, who was the tech-head of a boutique gaming business at the time, at a jam session almost by chance. “What started off as a musical confluence in the evening turned into a full-blown business idea by night,” Ritesh, now the Chief Product Officer at Flipspaces, smiles as he recounts. When the team began working on the 'big concept' surrounding technology in 2015, they believed they had cracked the code to elevate the consumer experience in interior design, underpinned by a vision of a multi-module technology solution. Flipspaces was born as a first-of-its-kind, interior-design-tech brand after acqui-hiring a tech team and bringing in Ritesh as the Chief Product Officer. “Until now, we have been fairly averse to media glare. We believe our work should be the mouthpiece for the brand,” Kunal reflects. Flipspace's tech-platform has now catered to over 5 million sqft of commercial space globally for renowned companies such as BSH, NoBroker, Open Financial, Times Group, Aditya Birla, InstaOffice, BharatPe, Nivea, Oppo, P&G, Reebok, Royal Enfield, Razorpay, Bounce, and PlaySimple Games in India and the US, thanks to their tech-driven vision. The company focuses on commercial spaces such as offices, retail, hotel, education, and health care facilities, among others, and offers clients a one-stop, tech-enabled design and construction solution.
