Centre urges Chhattisgarh govt for resolution of coal generation issues

The centre has urged the Chhattisgarh government to expedite the resolution of several land-related problems of the Southern Eastern Coalfield Limited to boost coal production in the nation.

Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Coal, conducted a virtual meeting with the Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and emphasised the quick boost in the coal production in the nation. He asked for an early resolution of several land-related problems of South Eastern Coalfield Limited, Chattisgarh.

Joshi further suggested that the production of coal can be further improved from Chattisgarh and if such problems are fixed as early as possible.

He additionally urged the Chief Minister to facilitate the auction of mineral blocks according to the recent reforms brought about in the mineral sector. The Minister had another meeting with the top authorities of the Coal Ministry and Coal India Limited to check the status of coal availability in the nation.

In wake of the surging demand for Coal, the Minister insisted Coal India encourage the workforce to attain yearly production goals. He told them to stick to a 100 days’ action strategy to reach the set goal.

The minister additionally highlighted prioritising coal supplies to thermal power facilities and reiterated the significance of improving production with safety.
