India's Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is embarking on a comprehensive performance review of the nation's City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks, natural gas pipelines, and petroleum product pipelines. The objective is to closely examine the natural gas infrastructure from the perspectives of demand, supply, and performance gaps, all with the overarching goal of increasing the share of natural gas in India's energy portfolio from its current 6 percent to a targeted 15 percent.

PNGRB is presently in the process of selecting an agency to conduct an in-depth study, focusing on the assessment of demand, supply dynamics, and the feasibility of enhancing the natural gas infrastructure across India.
