Solar Energy Zone transmission system commissioned for Rajasthan

The Transmission System associated with Rajasthan Solar Energy Zone (SEZ) Part-C was commissioned on 4th October 2021 by POWERGRID Khetri Transmission System Limited (PKTSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID). This is one of Rajasthan's largest interstate tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) projects.

A new 765 kV Sub-station in Khetri, Rajasthan, connects the country's capital, Jhatikara, Delhi to Sikar, Rajasthan, via a 765 kV Double Circuit Transmission line and a 400 kV Double Circuit Transmission line.

The PKTSL system's completion will make it easier to transport renewable energy from Rajasthan to other parts of the country. It will benefit industries, households, and businesses, boosting Rajasthan's and the country's overall economic development. It will improve transmission infrastructure to evacuate renewable energy, reducing India's reliance on fossil fuels, in line with the government's goal of 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

By supplying quality and reliable green power across the country, this important transmission project will improve ease of living as well as provide GatiShakti to infrastructure development activities.

POWERGRID currently operates 263 substations with a total capacity of more than 172,000 ckm and 447,000 MVA. POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability of greater than 99% thanks to the use of cutting-edge technological tools and techniques, as well as increased automation and digital solutions.

Rajasthan, which has risen to prominence as a major solar destination in recent years, recently passed Karnataka in terms of total installed solar capacity, surpassing the 8 GW milestone.

Constructive Automation

On most construction sites, the rhythm of progress is measured by the clang of steel, the hum of machinery and the sweat of thousands. Behind the concrete and cables, an invisible force is taking hold: data. It is turning blueprints into living simulations, managing fleets of machines, and helping engineers make decisions before a single brick is laid. This is not the construction of tomorrow; it is the architecture of today – built on ..
