Centre to award 100 MW solar projects by August

The Central government will award 100 MW of solar power projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by August 2010. Numerous public and private companies have proposed to set up large and small solar/PV plants to achieve the 1,100 MW target in Phase I of the National Solar Mission. An estimated Rs 18,000 crore is expected to come up in the Phase I. The government aims at having 20,000 MW by 2022. Contact: The Central Government.
